Spin with the Survivors!

“Spin with the Survivors” is a 200 mile virtual spin tour to promote physical activity as a complement to cancer recovery and to raise money to support our wellness programs.

Anybody who enjoys spin classes at their local gym can join the “Spin with the Survivors” tour by signing up for a FREE personal wellness account to a keep a journal of your spin minutes. For each spin minute recorded in your wellness journal a personalized marker will be moved ¼ of a mile along the virtual ride course to mark your progress. There is no time limit on completing the tour but you’ll be surprised how quickly the miles add up.

All registered spinners will have the opportunity to earn great prizes by raising donations to support the physical activity programs offered by Western New York Wellness.

Happy New Year! – 2010 Memberships

We are building a new online membership application for the GVCC that will also include a new race calendar with an automated marshal sign up feature. April in December – Battenkill

Who is thinking about Spring races in December? Well, those who are planning to race the 2010 Tour of Battenkill! Great to see many GVCC on their toes and sign up for this unique event as soon as registration opened at 7pm on 12/21. In 10 minutes, the cat 5 races were filled, and soon after the 40+ category was filled. This is the biggest one-day race in the U.S. and it is only a few hours away – if you are a racer, you should not miss it. Go for the experience. Go to see the thousands of racers and put your racing life in perspective. Go jump in a bigger pond. Just go race and have fun and enjoy the spectacle! Fields are filling up fast.
